Kerry apologizes
After intense pressure from Democratic colleagues whose election chances he may have torpedoed, Lord Kerry offered his "heartfelt" apology,
"I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member or American who was offended," he said.
He sincerely regrets that anyone could be so stupid as to "misinterpret" what he said, particularly any service member or family member. Here's what he said.
“You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, and if you don’t you get stuck in Iraq.” (John Kerry, October 30, 2006)
He claims it was a botched joke. You make the call. Can you find a joke in there? If you can, I have some advice. Keep your day job. A Comedy Central career is not in the cards. Some joke. Some apology.
