They're all over the place. Most show Obama with a commanding lead. But yesterday the Investor's Business Daily poll, which according to Ed Morrissey was the most accurate in 2004, has Obama over McCain at only 46.7% to 44.6%. Ed believes it is significant that Obama is below 50% since McCain has been closing in.
At the other end of the spectrum the America On Line AOL straw poll for October 31st through November 4th, completely unscientific, has McCain with a 15 point lead as of this morning, 57% to 42%. The AOL straw poll allows one vote per email address, and though email accounts don't represent voters, whatever demographic group this is, they like McCain.
I have no idea what to expect come Wednesday morning. McCain may be right. We could be in for a long Tuesday night.
