Opinion polls keep cropping up in news stories and as news stories. During slow spots in the campaign season when liberal media types could come up with little else that was negative to report about Bush, often times they would make some derogatory claim, then offer results of an opinion poll as if that provided supporting fact. I've come to view opinion polls as little more than media attempts to determine their own effectiveness. Central question to be answered by the poll: "Having pumped smoke up your butts for five and a half years, we'd now like to know, how many of you believe us?"
Do you ever listen to 96.9 FM Jay Severin? He has some interesting thoughts about these polls...and how they are worded, formatted, who is asked for opinions...and then of course how the MSM rips apart the results to make their agenda look good.

I try to avoid listening to Jay Severin. Once in a while I tune in and once in a while I find him to be informative, but mostly he strikes me as obnoxious and bigoted. Could be my confirmation bias at work there.
