We’re worse off than 4 years ago, voters say. That's according to Mark Murray, deputy political director at NBC News, but apparently his heart is on his sleeve.
WASHINGTON - Are you better off now than you were four years ago?
This has become a fundamental question in presidential elections. And for the first time since 1992, a plurality of voters heading into November’s election answer that question with a resounding no, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
Forty-three percent say that they and their families are worse off, compared with 34 percent who say they’re better off; 21 percent respond that their status is the same.
Let me see if I have this straight. Forty-three percent say they are worse off, but then on the other hand 34 plus 21 makes 55 percent who say they're not worse off. Well OK, the voters have answered, but Mr. Murray is pretty selective about which ones he listens to.
