John Kerry has the courage to take on the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.
[...]
John Kerry will create a new "State Tax Relief and Education Fund" that will help states so they don't have to make cuts that hurt our economy with an additional $25 billion over two years.
Courageous or arrogant? Fast forward to 2010 and guess what! Senator Kerry doesn't have a lot of sympathy for the financial plight of states who rely heavily on a sales tax, most specifically Massachusetts. By docking his luxury yacht the "Isabel" in Rhode Island rather than at his summer
home on Nantucket, John Kerry avoids paying a half million dollars in
sales tax and $70,000 annually in excise taxes to his home state of
Massachusetts.
When asked "Did you berth the boat in Massachusetts?" he replied, "That depends on who owns it."
Then, he said to his driver, "Can I get out of here please?"
Records show that the "Isabel" is owned by Great Point LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability corporation.
If records show that "the "Isabel" is owned by Great Point LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability corporation," then it's not Kerry's, right?
So why should he pay taxes on it?
