Remember when Joe Biden said he didn't know anything about his son Hunter's business dealings? Here's Joe claiming that he didn't know Hunter was on the board of Burisma.
JUDY WOODRUFF, PBS NEWSHOUR: Your son Hunter, you have been asked a lot of questions about this. But my question is, both of you have said you wouldn't, as president, have your children, have him or your children involved with foreign countries. My question is, if it's not appropriate if Joe Biden is president, why was it appropriate when you were vice president?
FMR. VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Well, number one, no one has established that he did anything wrong or that I have done anything wrong, period. I have carried out the policy of the United States of America, our allies in the International Monetary Fund, the E.U., in dealing with a corrupt prosecutor, period, number one. I didn't know he was on the board of that company. And, in fact, no one has asserted on the board that it illegal for him to be on the board or he did anything wrong. [My emphasis]
It was back in November of 2019 that Joe made those denials, long before Hunter Biden's laptop turned up in a Jersey computer repair shop. Since then, information found on the laptop has proven Joe Biden to be a liar, not that any additional proof was needed for anybody with functioning brain cells.
The New York Post has email and photographic proof that "the big guy" met with Burisma officials.
The photo of the then-veep and Hunter smiling with the two Kazakhs, clearly shot at Café Milano, isn’t the only proof Joe actually attended the dinner: Pozharskyi e-mailed Hunter the next day, “Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. . . . It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.” So much for any claim that Joe never met with Burisma officials even as he was Team Obama’s point man on Ukraine, a role he used to demand the ouster of a prosecutor who was looking into the firm.
Burisma was then paying Hunter (who had zero energy expertise) $83,333 a month to sit on its board. Another e-mail from the laptop reveals that Burisma cut Hunter’s pay in half in March 2017 — right after Joe became a private citizen, another clear sign of what actually qualified the Biden scion for such vast payouts.
That all of this is considered "Russian disinformation" by the likes of the New York Times and the Washington Post argues that corporate media is an integral part of the swamp. I don't see how media business models could possibly depend on advertising and circulation for profitability. It seems more likely that by covering for the kind of extortion Joe described when he bragged, "Well, son of a bitch, he got fired," media luminaries are cashing in on it.
